Bold, daring, attention-drawing. When done right, this type of makeup can truly make an outfit. Though some may feel uncomfortable wearing some of the following designs in public, I can't wait to see the stares (of admiration hopefully) when I try these gorgeous looks in my small town.

T-shirt Sale

Genocide: Darfur t-shirt in white, $25

I'm sure that most of you have heard of the violence and genocide in Darfur, but if you haven't, please do check it out. I will be selling t-shirts that I designed here on my blog. 75% of the proceeds will go to the Save Darfur organization, which has and is still making rather large contributions to help those who are suffering because of the violence. So, if you go on the right side of my blog, you will see "T-shirts for a Cause." Click on that and you will find an order form and the t-shirts to choose from. I'm just starting out, so for now there are only a few, but please buy them, spread the word, and help me to help Darfur. I'm still working out the kinks, so they aren't for sale yet. I will post when they do come on sale.

P.S. And in case you are wondering, the proceeds that don't go to Darfur will be used to buy supplies to make more t-shirts. More t-shirts for more causes will come, as well, so If you have any causes that you want me to specifically support, just tell me in a comment. Thanks :)

Overload!

Alright, so I've been extremely busy lately. Teachers seem to be piling on as much work as possible before I leave for break, and I've been traveling every weekend! Not to mention a little misadventure I had with my hair. I already said in an earlier post that I am have quite a few ethnic backgrounds, so my hair isn't exactly very straight. I woke up late the morning of an important ceremony that I had to take part in, so I had no time to straighten my hair. The girls at my school, which isn't very racially diverse, were frankly, very amazed with my hair, and began playing with it. I thought it was hilarious, as I got to stand up in front of my entire high school, plus teachers and parents, with a semi-afro. But let's get back on track.
     Spring is finally approaching! I can't be happier. I'm quite the warm weather girl, in love with sunshine and all the activities that come with it. I may have said this before, but my style is inspired by my mood, music, and the books that I read. I've been reading The Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice (never was one for twilight, the characters were much too flat and seemed barely there), and I've fallen in love with period inspired and refined styles. I've been looking for ways to incorporate this into my everyday styles (when I'm not in uniform that is), and I believe I have found it.

I know that I've featured other pieces from the Spring 2011 collection before, but what other line designs such gorgeous and timeless pieces than Alexander McQueen?

Rachel Zoe Fall 2011

 This collection really jumped out at me. The tailoring on most of the pieces is spot on, and I really love the fun yet sophisticated feel. I really love the sleek, clean look in some of the outfits, but what really surprises me is the sort of grungy, grandma dress. It has real character. Looks like a piece that could tell a story if you know what I mean. The overlarge cape definitely has a sort of something about it that makes it stand out. Its black trim sort of outlines it, makes it bold. Overall, this is a very sophisticated collection. Love it.
